Mornington

Hi and welcome my name is Marina Talbot and I am your local Defence Special Needs Coordinator for the Mornington region.  Our area covers families living in the HMAS CERBERUS and surrounding Mornington Peninsula areas, Frankston and the south-east region of metropolitan Melbourne.

Frankston is 40 kilometres south of Melbourne via the Nepean Highway.  It is located on the southern most edge of the Greater Melbourne metropolitan area and is referred to as the “Gateway to the Mornington Peninsula”.  A further 30 minutes down the road and you will find HMAS CERBERUS, the Navy’s premier training establishment.

Families with special needs posting into this area need to be aware that where they are housed may affect the type of services and support they require with certain locations being in the Mornington Peninsula Shire region and other  locations in the Frankston region.  For specific special needs information in relation to where you are considering being housed, contact the National Coordinator on 1800 037 674.

For more information about the Mornington region, have a look at the handy Your Community section on the Defence Community Organisation website.  If you are interested in attending upcoming Defence Community Organisation events in your area, please visit the Events page.  You can also find comprehensive resources available for download from the Resources page.

For more information about what we are doing in this area and when the next event or coffee and chat is please contact me on 0417636541 or please give the National Office a call on 1800 037 674 or please email me to find out what is happening in the area and to go on to the mailing list.
